ABOUT PACHA MASSIVE

Nacional Records’ first U.S.-based signing, The Bronx’s Pacha Massive, is off to a remarkable digital start – in its first week of release, the group’s debut album All Good Things hit #1 on iTunes’ Alternativo chart, was the #1 overall album on eMusic (outselling Anglo acts like Bloc Party, Of Montreal and Johnny Cash), and #2 on iTunes Latino’s Top Albums chart (ahead of Shakira, Maná and Gypsy Kings).

Pacha Massive (from “Pachamama” meaning “Mother Earth”) is the creative collaboration between Dominican-born Nova (keys/guitar/writer/producer) and Colombian-born Maya (writer/bass). Pacha Massive’s music is a funky fusion of traditional Latin rhythms like Colombian cumbia, Dominican palo, reggae, dancehall, dub and electronica sure to get the pachanga fired up. The duo met in New York while working on a project with Ivan Benavides (Sidestepper, Bloque, Carlos Vives), where a creative collaboration between the two led to the formation of Pacha Massive in 2005.
