| Hymns is built on a musical relationship more than a decade old. Brian Harding (vocals/guitar) and Jason Roberts (guitar/piano) met in the fifth grade and have been playing in bands together ever since. A move from North Carolina to Brooklyn and the addition of Tony Kent (drums) and Matt Shaw (bass) cemented the formation of a band that marries Pavement to Neil Young with the twang of Gram, the inebriation of Guided by Voices and the drive of Spoon. They went on to record their debut album 'Brother/Sister' on Blackland Records and have toured and played shows with Ben Kweller, The Lemonheads, Beck, Sam Roberts Band and Vietnam as well as many others. They will be touring for the rest of the year as well as completing their sophomore album.
